At Beyond Limits, our journey started among the stars. Founded in 2014, we were born out of a groundbreaking collaboration with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Caltech. JPL, managed by Caltech for NASA, was where some of the most advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies were created to guide spacecraft millions of miles from home. These AI systems were tasked with making decisions in real time, without the luxury of large data streams or human intervention. It was here that our Cognitive AI technology was born, tested, and proven on some of NASA’s most iconic missions.

When CEO AJ Abdallat and CTO Mark James—a NASA JPL veteran of over 20 years—envisioned Beyond Limits, they sought to create something truly unique: an AI that could not only process data but reason through problems like a human expert.
